Installation
Free Basic Installation on Your First Set-Top Box - Subscribe to Hay IP Digital TV for a minimum of six months and our technicians will come to your home and install your main system, from cables to the set-top box, to your first TV for free. We will also show you how easy our remote and guide are to use. If you wish to hook up additional sets, an installation fee will apply. Other basic charges may also apply to complex wiring installations.
High Definition Set-top Boxes
Both our set-top boxes feature high-definition TV (HDTV) capability, which provides up to twice the colour resolution and up to six times the sharpness of standard TV when connected to an HD-capable TV. A high definition TV and a high definition set-top box are required to view channels in HD. In order to watch different programs, each TV in the home requires a set-top box. Boxes are not available for purchase.
PVR (Personal Video Recorder) HD Set-Top Box
The VIP1216 is a Personal Video Recorder (PVR). The PVR can record HD, high-definition and SD, standard-definition programs. It also enables you to pause and rewind live programming. PVR functionality may be limited on some channels. Rental $10.99 per month
Standard HD Set-top Box
The VIP 1200 is a compact, superior set-top box. This box supports both HD high definition and SD standard-definition digital video. Both the VIP 1200 and 1216 include a high end microprocessor and enhanced graphics to decode HD and SD digital TV, as well as output high-quality surround sound audio. Rental $6.99 per month
